Alright, so everyone here knows that this site isn't exactly that active, yes? Well my suggestion is to simply clear out some old unactive members. Not the ones who used to post everyday but for some reason disappeared, because you never know, they might come back! But there are those members who made an account, like, a year ago but never posted once. What are the odds of them coming back?
Because right now, the number of people on the site might actually scare people away. I personally hate joining sites with hundreds of people because I want to make some real friends, not get lost in the crowd. But luckily, I looked around and realised that most of the members weren't actually active.
Another thing is that it makes the site look unactive. Active means that all the members post all the time. Even if we have new posts every day, there's still maybe only ten people max that even post, making it look unactive. If that even makes sense? I dunno, that was some messy wording... But, uhm, to sum that up, I think that if we had less members, we'd look more active.
I just thought maybe this would help make the site look a bit cleaner... Sorry if it doesn't even make sense, I'm too lazy to check for stupid typos at the moment >_<

I agree. There are so many members who make an account and never, ever post. It doesn't make any sense to me. -A- If we cleared them out, it would definitely be less intimidating for shy newcomers (I feel the same way!) and would give the impression of being a close-knit community--which we are!

Yes, I agree. Cleaning out unactive accounts not only decreases the numbers, but it could also allow new comers to claim names that belonged to the innactive accounts (I thinks)

We now have 74 scratch that 40 members instead of the near...what 3-4 hundred XD
I'm kind of surprised we still have that many but there are a lot of old members I kind of hope will come back...There were also a few I couldn't quite remember if they were some of the veteran rpers or not, as everyone around here has a habit of chaning names everyone once a while XD

Wow! Nice job, Cap'n. =O Seems like erasing all those names would be a long and tedious job to do.

Thanks, not really, a little tedious but not long at all. Took less than 20 minutes actually. I feel better after doing that too, I'd been wanting to do so for a while but there were always more pressing matters or I had forgotten XD so this was the perfect chance to do so!

No worries, it does feel better to the number whittled down!
You wouldn't believe how many multiple accounts there were...but none of them were active anyway.

Maybe you should completly change a few things. Members might not be coming back because everything is always the same. I do it with my sites all the time. I change a few things and then everything looks new and pretty N~YA! =^-^=

I do that too with my forum, but...I haven't gotten any new members lately, although I get a ton of guests. The key really is in the activity, I think. If the forum is visually appealing to begin with, and has lots of activity, people are more likely to join.

So you got my hint at what I was saying. I didn't want to sound rude or anything but,... this deserves a well needed makeover. The default skin is a little too deep red. You want people to feel welcome not overwhelmed by everything.

We just got through giving the site a makeover and I quite like how it looks. Though I haven't looked at the default skin in a while so I'll take a look and see if it needs changing.
However, what do you think it needs? I'm open to suggestions.

Nuuuug, what did the rules say about pictures? No larger than 200 x 500 and if they are put it in a link! Thanks Haruka-chan!
Also I actually meant suggestions about the site not about the skin...seeing as I do like all these skins as they are now.
Thank you Haruka-chan *snuggle*

I know you are hun, and appreciate it! I love seeing members with enthusiasm helping out around the site! It makes me feel like I'm doing something right XD This is a very, very dear site to me and I only want to make it the best it possibly can be for the members that have become very much like family to me! So I'm always interested in any suggestions that come around and I want everyone to feel like they can share their ideas with me!
But at the same time I take into account who is sharing ideas with me. You've only been with us for a little while and yet are trying to make some very big changes that have already occurred so it's hard to be opened minded about it. I don't ever intend to be snippy or anything but I can be a bit defensive when it comes to the site! I've meet some of the greatest friends I'll ever have and lost a lot of good people here too, there are a lot of memories and feeling here. So you'll need to forgive me if I ever seem cross about something, kay! I really mean no harm, I'm just a friendly little wolf who loves to roleplay =3
